On February 19 and 20, 2016, the Enercare Centre at Exhibition Place will host the first-ever Winter Brewfest. Beer fans and fanatics are encouraged to come out and sample some of Canada’s finest craft brews and gourmet food in a uniquely rustic indoor setting.

“What’s more Canadian than drinking a cold beer inside while the temperature drops below zero outside?” says Michael O’Farrell, General Manager of Winter Brewfest. “We’re excited to bring the first indoor winter beer festival to Toronto and really show people what amazing beers local Ontario and Quebec breweries are producing.”

Having had great success with Festibiere de Gatineau over the past five years as well as the first edition of Winter Brewfest in Ottawa last year, the festival is thrilled to be moving into one of the largest markets in Canada next, known for the popularity of the craft beer scene.

Winter Brewfest guests are invited to enjoy signature products from more than 35 Ontario breweries, including Creemore Springs, Beau’s All Natural Brewing, Great Lakes Brewery, Amsterdam Brewery, Cassel Brewery, Side Launch Brewing Company, Cartwright Springs Brewery, Longslice Brewery, Tooth and Nail Brewing Company, Muskoka Brewery, Left Field Brewery, StoneHammer and Black Oak Brewing Co. Additionally, six Quebec breweries will be pouring their best, including Gainsbourg Bistro-Brasserie, Microbrasserie Charlevoix, Les Trois Mousquetaire, Farnham Ale & Lager, Bilboquet and Brasseurs du Monde.

Festival go-ers will also have the unique opportunity to sample Cask Beers. Unlike most beer, which is delivered from the brewery in a finished state, cask-conditional ale does not complete its fermenting until days or even moments before it is delivered to the drinker. That means it’s less carbonated than other beer, slightly chilled, yet fresh and vibrant in taste.

Local Toronto gourmet food trucks will be serving up their finest poutines, mac n cheese, tacos, sausages and more, to compliment the brews in hand. DJs Conor Cutz, Grump, Techtwelve and Tom Wrecks will provide the soundtrack for the weekend, upbeat and lively to match the expected crowd.

Early bird tickets are now on sale for $15 (tax included) through the Winter Brewfest website at www.brewfest.ca. Ticket price includes admission to one of the two sessions and the official festival glass. Quantities are limited. Each session runs from 5pm to 1am. Visit the website for the full schedule and other activities. For ages 19+. On-site parking available.
